Civic Entertainment Group review
Worth a conversation about Events & Experiential once the caveats below are settled.
An award-winning brand experience and corporate conference producer with about 30 named, dated case studies for Ford, Audible, Verizon and PayPal, and no published pricing, measurement method, or asset ownership terms.
No published price we can link to. We do not estimate one — ask on the call, and see the pricing-transparency line in the scores below.
How it scored
Every dimension is scored against this discipline’s published rubric. Open one to see the claim it was scored on, what the rubric measures there and how much it weighs, and where the evidence came from.
How the measuring works: we read the agency’s public record first-hand — its site, pricing, case studies and independent reviews — and score what is checkable: what is published, not how it is phrased. There is no keyword counting or sentiment scoring. The label is a judgment on those facts, which is why each dimension shows the fact that decided it, the band it was judged against, and the sources — so you can check the call, and tell us if you think it is wrong.
Delivered work and scale evidenceExcellent
Excellent — 5 of 5 on this rubric’s scale, from Poor (1) to Excellent (5). This dimension carries 25% of the total score.
Benchmark — across the 23 other agencies evaluated in this discipline, this dimension runs Excellent 12 · Strong 11. The typical agency here scores Excellent, and none scores higher than this one.
What this dimension measures: Named client activations and exhibit programs with enough specificity to be checkable — the show, the year, the footprint or attendance. Weight scale-matching heavily: an agency that builds 40x50 island exhibits and one that builds 10x10 inline booths are different businesses, and so are a 200-person user conference and a 20,000-person trade show. Score whether the evidenced work matches the brief's size, not whether the roster is impressive.
Scores high — Recent, attributable work for demanding brands at a comparable scale scores 4-5.
Scores low — A gallery of renders and stock-looking imagery with no named clients scores 2.
What we found — About 30 individually published case studies at /experience/, named and dated, with checkable specifics rather than renders. 2025 Wyndham Global Conference: 3 days at Caesars Forum, Las Vegas, 4.5 hours of mainstage programming, 40+ Wyndham brands, 5K+ attendees, 42 learning sessions. PayPal Investor Day, February 2025: 'Over 150 analysts attended.' Verizon Sports and Entertainment Partner Summit, early 2024, Irving Plaza NYC, with speakers named as Hans Vestberg, Roger Goodell, Michael Rapino and Gary Bettman. Michigan Central OPEN for Ford (2024), including a Live from Detroit concert Civic says it co-produced with Paul Rosenberg and Jesse Collins. Audible at Sundance 2025 and SXSW 2024. Roster includes Ford, Verizon, Audible, Meta/Instagram, NBCUniversal, Shopify, Canva, PayPal, Wyndham, CNN, HBO Max. Named venues, dates and speakers make these publicly checkable, and the work carries independent award corroboration (Ad Age Experiential Small Agency of the Year back-to-back, Adweek 2024 Experiential Award and a 2025 Clio Music award, both for Michigan Central OPEN). Headline attendance and footprint figures are still vendor-stated on their own pages. Scale-matching caveat: the evidenced work is brand activations, festival and sponsorship presences, and large owned corporate conferences. There is no evidence of trade show exhibit programs in the booth sense -- no inline or island builds, no square footage, no show floor programs. That is the high band above, which is why it scored Excellent.
On the record — “The Verizon Partner Summit case study places the inaugural Sports and Entertainment Partner Summit at Irving Plaza NYC in early 2024 with named speakers including Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino and NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman -- all independently checkable.” civic-us.com ↗
On the record — “The PayPal Investor Day case study states the February 2025 event was attended by 'Over 150 analysts' and links out to the event on YouTube and to Fortune coverage.” civic-us.com ↗
Evidence: partly checkable — corroborated in part against the sources below; the remainder rests on the agency’s own account.
Production and logistics capabilityAdequate
Adequate — 3 of 5 on this rubric’s scale, from Poor (1) to Excellent (5). This dimension carries 20% of the total score.
Benchmark — across the 23 other agencies evaluated in this discipline, this dimension runs Excellent 7 · Strong 10 · Adequate 6. The typical agency here scores Strong, and 17 of them score higher than this one.
What this dimension measures: The unglamorous half that decides whether the thing opens on time: owned fabrication versus subcontracted build, warehousing and asset storage, shipping and drayage handling, install and dismantle crews, and show-services coordination with venues and general contractors.
Scores high — Owned or directly managed fabrication plus stated logistics capability scores 4-5.
Scores low — Design-only shops that hand off to a builder score 2-3 — legitimate, but the buyer then carries the integration risk and should know it. Silence on who actually builds and installs scores 2.
What we found — Real, demonstrated live production capability, but design-and-produce rather than build-and-ship. Positive evidence: a named production executive on the leadership page, David Jacobsen, SVP, Head of Production and Partner Relations; 'develop and produce 4.5 hours of mainstage programming' and 'led venue outreach and contract negotiation, project management' on the Wyndham conference; 'co-produced' on the Michigan Central concert. Against: a keyword sweep of the homepage, About, Work, Contact, Leadership, News and eleven case study pages returned zero occurrences of fabrication, warehousing, drayage, install, dismantle, rigging, general contractor or show services. The Wyndham page credits Civic with 'trade show design' -- design, not build. 'Partner Relations' in the production title reads as a subcontracted build model, but the site never says who fabricates or installs. Per the rubric, a design-led shop that hands off to a builder scores 2-3 and the buyer carries the integration risk; the demonstrated mainstage production and venue contracting lift this to the top of that band rather than the silence floor. That is between the two bands, which is why it scored Adequate.
On the record — “The leadership page names a production executive, David Jacobsen, SVP, Head of Production and Partner Relations, alongside 13 named leaders with LinkedIn links -- evidence of an in-house production function, though 'Partner Relations' suggests build is subcontracted.” civic-us.com ↗
On the record — “A keyword sweep across the homepage, About, Work, Contact, Leadership, News and eleven case study pages returned zero occurrences of fabrication, warehousing, drayage, install, dismantle, rigging, general contractor, show services, lead capture, CRM, budget, minimum, retainer, cancellation, insurance, permit, union, storage, refurbishment or ownership terms.” civic-us.com ↗
Evidence: partly checkable — corroborated in part against the sources below; the remainder rests on the agency’s own account.
Budget and cost transparencyWeak
Weak — 2 of 5 on this rubric’s scale, from Poor (1) to Excellent (5). This dimension carries 15% of the total score.
Benchmark — across the 23 other agencies evaluated in this discipline, this dimension runs Excellent 1 · Strong 2 · Adequate 5 · Weak 14 · Poor 1. The typical agency here scores Weak, and 8 of them score higher than this one.
What this dimension measures: Score disclosure of the pass-through layer specifically: drayage, rigging, electrical and venue services routinely add a large fraction to a quoted number, and an agency that explains where those land is telling the buyer something the category usually hides.
Scores high — Published budget ranges, program minimums, or a stated cost model (design fee, fabrication, per-show services) score 4-5.
Scores low — A stated engagement structure without numbers scores 2-3; nothing at all scores 1-2.
What we found — Nothing published. No budget ranges, no program minimums, no stated cost model, no separation of design fee from production cost, and no disclosure of the pass-through layer (drayage, rigging, electrical, venue services) that the rubric asks about specifically. /pricing and /services both return a genuine 404 with title 'Page not found' -- a measured absence, not a retrieval failure, since the nonsense-path control on the same domain also 404s correctly. The only route to a number is the contact email buildwithus@civic-us.com. This is a measured absence rather than anything worse, so Weak rather than Poor: an enterprise, contact-led engagement model is implied, it is simply never described. That is what the low band describes, which is why it scored Weak.
On the record — “No pricing or services page exists: /pricing and /services both return genuine HTTP 404s. With the soft-404 control passing on the same domain, the absence of published cost information is measured, not a retrieval failure.” civic-us.com ↗
On the record — “Soft-404 control passed on civic-us.com: /this-page-cannot-possibly-exist-9f3k2 returns HTTP 404 with title 'Page not found', distinct from the homepage which returns 200 with title 'We Are Civic'.” civic-us.com ↗

Measurement and lead captureWeak
Weak — 2 of 5 on this rubric’s scale, from Poor (1) to Excellent (5). This dimension carries 15% of the total score.
Benchmark — across the 23 other agencies evaluated in this discipline, this dimension runs Strong 4 · Adequate 16 · Weak 3. The typical agency here scores Adequate, and 20 of them score higher than this one.
What this dimension measures: What the agency does about proving the event worked: lead capture and CRM integration, attendee data, engagement measurement, post-show reporting. Treat guaranteed business outcomes (pipeline, revenue) as a claim to be sceptical of rather than a strength — attendance and conversion depend on the client's own sales follow-up.
Scores high — A described measurement approach with named integrations scores 4-5.
Scores low — Reporting confined to footfall and impressions scores 2-3. No stated measurement scores 2.
What we found — No stated measurement approach anywhere on the site. The keyword sweep found no lead capture, no CRM or Salesforce integration, no badge scanning, no attendee data practice and no post-show reporting methodology. What the site publishes instead is outcome and reach assertion: 'a record national prime time audience on NBC/Peacock and nearly one billion unique views' across Instagram, X, Facebook and TikTok, and, in the Ad Age award announcement on their own news page, that Michigan Central OPEN drove 'direct vehicle sales, mostly new-to-Ford buyers,' attracted '$1B+ in venture investment,' added '1000s of local jobs' and 'doubled revenue for small businesses in the neighborhood,' plus an unsourced 'Over 90% of people are more likely to buy after a brand experience.' The rubric directs scepticism toward guaranteed business outcomes rather than credit, and impressions-level reporting caps at 2-3. With no method stated for how any of it is attributed, this sits at 2. That is what the low band describes, which is why it scored Weak.
On the record — “The agency's own news page and award announcement claim Michigan Central OPEN was 'the No. 1 branded entertainment program on NBC' and drove 'direct vehicle sales, mostly new-to-Ford buyers,' '$1B+ in venture investment,' '1000s of local jobs' and 'doubled revenue for small businesses in the neighborhood,' plus an unsourced 'Over 90% of people are more likely to buy after a brand experience.' No attribution method is given for any of these.” civic-us.com ↗
CRM — customer relationship management system: the database of record for contacts and deals — HubSpot, Salesforce and kin.
pipeline — the dollar value of open, qualified deals sales is working. “Pipeline created” ties marketing to money, where lead counts don’t.
Evidence: inferred — our reading of indirect evidence, not a documented fact.
Stronger here: George P. Johnson scores Strong on the same dimension.
Asset ownership and reuseWeak
Weak — 2 of 5 on this rubric’s scale, from Poor (1) to Excellent (5). This dimension carries 10% of the total score.
Benchmark — across the 23 other agencies evaluated in this discipline, this dimension runs Adequate 14 · Weak 9. The typical agency here scores Adequate, and 14 of them score higher than this one.
What this dimension measures: Who owns the physical exhibit and its design, and what reuse across a show season costs. Rental-only models score 3 where stated plainly — a legitimate and often cheaper choice — but a rental sold as a build is a real problem. Where the agency stores client-owned property, note whether storage fees and retrieval terms are disclosed: an asset you cannot get back without an unpriced invoice is not fully yours.
Scores high — Client ownership of the structure and design files, with stated storage and refurbishment terms, scores 4-5.
Scores low — Silence scores 2.
What we found — Silence, which the rubric scores 2. No statement of who owns the physical build or the design files, no storage or warehousing terms, no refurbishment or reuse pricing across a show season, and no indication whether any element is rental. The keyword sweep returned no hits for ownership, storage, refurbishment or reuse. Somewhat less acute here than for an exhibit house, because most of the evidenced work is one-off activations, broadcast moments and annual conferences rather than a reusable structure toured across a season -- but a buyer commissioning a custom environment still cannot learn from the site who owns it afterwards or what it costs to store and re-stage. That is what the low band describes, which is why it scored Weak.
Evidence: inferred — our reading of indirect evidence, not a documented fact.
Risk, compliance and contingencyWeak
Weak — 2 of 5 on this rubric’s scale, from Poor (1) to Excellent (5). This dimension carries 10% of the total score.
Benchmark — across the 23 other agencies evaluated in this discipline, this dimension runs Strong 1 · Adequate 10 · Weak 12. The typical agency here scores Weak, and 11 of them score higher than this one.
What this dimension measures: Union labour rules at major venues, permits, insurance and liability, safety and structural certification, and what happens when a show is cancelled or moves.
Scores high — A stated approach to venue labour rules and cancellation terms scores 4-5 — these are the things that generate surprise invoices and disputes.
Scores low — No evidence either way scores 2 with LOW confidence rather than a penalty, since most agencies never discuss this publicly.
What we found — No evidence either way, which the rubric explicitly scores 2 with LOW confidence rather than as a penalty. Nothing published on union labour rules at major venues, permits, insurance or liability, structural or safety certification, or what happens if a show is cancelled or moves. The one adjacent data point is the Wyndham case study crediting Civic with 'venue outreach and contract negotiation,' which implies the agency handles venue contracting on the client's behalf, but the terms themselves are never described. Most agencies in this category never discuss any of this publicly, so this is a low-information score rather than an adverse finding. That is what the low band describes, which is why it scored Weak.
Evidence: inferred — our reading of indirect evidence, not a documented fact.
Stronger here: Condit scores Strong on the same dimension.
References and review baseAdequate
Adequate — 3 of 5 on this rubric’s scale, from Poor (1) to Excellent (5). This dimension carries 5% of the total score.
Benchmark — across the 23 other agencies evaluated in this discipline, this dimension runs Adequate 6 · Weak 17. The typical agency here scores Weak, and none scores higher than this one.
What this dimension measures: Volume and recency of independent, verified reviews or checkable client references. Low weight deliberately — large exhibit houses run on multi-year contracts and RFP references rather than public review profiles, so a thin footprint here is weak evidence and the delivered work matters far more.
Scores low — A substantial verified base scores 4-5; a handful scores 2-3; none located scores 2.
What we found — No independent client review base located. No Clutch or G2 profile was found via search, and no client review platform could be read first-hand, so no rating or count is cited. Glassdoor carries a substantial employee review presence, which is not client evidence and is excluded. What does exist in its place is unusually strong third-party recognition: Ad Age Experiential Small Agency of the Year in consecutive years, an Adweek 2024 Experiential Award and a 2025 Clio Music award for Michigan Central OPEN, PR NET 100 listings in 2024 and 2025, and a Campaign US Agency of the Year shortlist. The Ad Age award page and a directory listing were both bot-blocked (403) to first-hand retrieval, so the awards are corroborated through multiple independent trade reports rather than read at source. Awards are not client references, and this dimension is deliberately low-weight, so the third-party validation lifts it only to Adequate.
Evidence: partly checkable — corroborated in part against the sources below; the remainder rests on the agency’s own account.
Verdict
Civic Entertainment Group, which trades as CIVIC, is a New York and Los Angeles brand experience and communications agency whose delivered work is among the most checkable in this category. Roughly thirty individual case studies are published at /experience/, each naming the client, the year, the venue and often the scale: the 2025 Wyndham Global Conference ran three days at Caesars Forum in Las Vegas with 4.5 hours of mainstage programming, 40+ brands and 5K+ attendees across 42 sessions; PayPal's February 2025 Investor Day drew over 150 analysts; Verizon's inaugural Sports and Entertainment Partner Summit at Irving Plaza NYC in early 2024 is documented with named speakers including Verizon's CEO and the commissioners of the NFL and NHL.
The Michigan Central OPEN launch for Ford, which Civic says it co-produced with Paul Rosenberg and Jesse Collins, won an Adweek 2024 Experiential Award and a 2025 Clio Music award, and the agency was named Ad Age's Experiential Small Agency of the Year in two consecutive years. Because these are public events with named venues, dates and participants, a buyer can verify most of the portfolio independently -- which is rarer in this category than it should be.
One scoping point matters more than any score here. This is not a trade show exhibit house. Nothing on the site evidences booth programs in the conventional sense: no inline or island builds, no square footage, no show-floor exhibit programs, and no fabrication.
The work is brand activations, festival and sponsorship presences, and large owned corporate conferences and investor days. The Wyndham page credits Civic with 'trade show design' -- design, explicitly, alongside venue outreach and contract negotiation and project management. A buyer who needs a 40x50 island fabricated, warehoused, shipped and installed across a show season is looking at a different kind of business; a buyer who needs a 5,000-person franchise conference or a Sundance activation designed and produced is looking at a very strong candidate.
Against that delivery record, the commercial layer is close to opaque. A keyword sweep across the homepage, About, Work, Contact, Leadership, News and eleven case study pages returned no occurrences of fabrication, warehousing, drayage, install, dismantle, rigging, general contractor or show services -- so who actually builds and installs is never stated. /pricing and /services return genuine 404s, and the nonsense-path control on the same domain also 404s correctly, so these are measured absences rather than a broken instrument: there are no budget ranges, no program minimums, no cost model, and no disclosure of the pass-through layer of drayage, rigging, electrical and venue charges that routinely swells a quoted number.
There is no stated measurement approach at all -- no lead capture, no CRM integration, no post-show reporting method. What the site offers instead is attributed outcome: 'nearly one billion unique views,' and, in its own award announcement, that Michigan Central OPEN drove direct vehicle sales, attracted '$1B+ in venture investment,' added '1000s of local jobs' and 'doubled revenue for small businesses in the neighborhood.' Those are large causal claims about a citywide redevelopment with no method given for separating the activation's contribution from everything else Ford was doing in Detroit, and they should be read as marketing rather than measurement. Ownership of any physical build, storage terms and refurbishment costs are likewise unaddressed, as are union labour rules, insurance and cancellation terms.
Two further things a buyer should know. The URL under which this agency is commonly listed, civicentertainment.com, is now a dead shell: it resolves to a parking IP, answers 403 or times out on most requests, and when it does answer it serves a consent-management script with no title, no content and no links on both the root and a nonsense path. The live site is civic-us.com, whose footer confirms the same legal entity, CIVIC ENTERTAINMENT GROUP, LLC.
Separately, in April 2026 Civic acquired Wave Kilo, a strategic communications consultancy, extending the agency further toward corporate and technology communications and away from physical production. What remains unknown is everything commercial: what an engagement costs or how it is structured, who fabricates and installs, who owns the assets afterwards, how success is measured, and what happens when a date moves. No independent client review base was located, so the portfolio and the award record are the only external corroboration available.

What we verified
Each claim below was checked against a named source, last on 2026-08-27. Follow any of them and check for yourself — that is the point of publishing them.
- The listed domain civicentertainment.com is no longer a working site. It resolves to a parking IP (208.91.197.39), returns 403 or times out on most requests, and the one successful 27KB response contained only a consent-management script and a 'Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information' link -- no title, no page content and no navigation. The root and a nonsense path serve the same empty shell. civicentertainment.com ↗
- The live site is https://www.civic-us.com/, and its footer reads '(c)CIVIC ENTERTAINMENT GROUP, LLC', confirming the same legal entity operating under the shortened CIVIC brand. civic-us.com ↗
- Soft-404 control passed on civic-us.com: /this-page-cannot-possibly-exist-9f3k2 returns HTTP 404 with title 'Page not found', distinct from the homepage which returns 200 with title 'We Are Civic'. civic-us.com ↗
- No pricing or services page exists: /pricing and /services both return genuine HTTP 404s. With the soft-404 control passing on the same domain, the absence of published cost information is measured, not a retrieval failure. civic-us.com ↗
- The 2025 Wyndham Global Conference case study states the event ran 3 days at Caesars Forum, Las Vegas, and that Civic produced 4.5 hours of mainstage programming, brought 40+ Wyndham brands to life, designed experiences for 5K+ attendees, and supported 42 learning and development sessions, while leading 'venue outreach and contract negotiation, project management, strategy and creative, graphic and experience design, stage programming... trade show design, and sponsorship monetization strategy and execution.' civic-us.com ↗
- The PayPal Investor Day case study states the February 2025 event was attended by 'Over 150 analysts' and links out to the event on YouTube and to Fortune coverage. civic-us.com ↗
- The Verizon Partner Summit case study places the inaugural Sports and Entertainment Partner Summit at Irving Plaza NYC in early 2024 with named speakers including Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino and NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman -- all independently checkable. civic-us.com ↗
- A keyword sweep across the homepage, About, Work, Contact, Leadership, News and eleven case study pages returned zero occurrences of fabrication, warehousing, drayage, install, dismantle, rigging, general contractor, show services, lead capture, CRM, budget, minimum, retainer, cancellation, insurance, permit, union, storage, refurbishment or ownership terms. civic-us.com ↗
- The leadership page names a production executive, David Jacobsen, SVP, Head of Production and Partner Relations, alongside 13 named leaders with LinkedIn links -- evidence of an in-house production function, though 'Partner Relations' suggests build is subcontracted. civic-us.com ↗
- In April 2026 Civic acquired Wave Kilo, a strategic communications consultancy, described on the site as combining 'Wave Kilo's high-touch expertise with CIVIC's scale and integrated capabilities.' The Wave Kilo team is listed with eight named staff. civic-us.com ↗
- The agency's own news page and award announcement claim Michigan Central OPEN was 'the No. 1 branded entertainment program on NBC' and drove 'direct vehicle sales, mostly new-to-Ford buyers,' '$1B+ in venture investment,' '1000s of local jobs' and 'doubled revenue for small businesses in the neighborhood,' plus an unsourced 'Over 90% of people are more likely to buy after a brand experience.' No attribution method is given for any of these. civic-us.com ↗
No independent reviews found
No independent client review base was located. Searches surfaced no Clutch or G2 profile for the agency, and no client review platform could be read first-hand, so no rating or count is cited. Glassdoor carries a substantial employee review presence, which is not client evidence and is excluded here. The available third-party corroboration is award and trade coverage rather than reviews: Ad Age Experiential Small Agency of the Year in consecutive years, an Adweek 2024 Experiential Award and a 2025 Clio Music award for Michigan Central OPEN, PR NET 100 listings in 2024 and 2025, and a Campaign US Agency of the Year shortlist. The Ad Age award page and a third-party directory listing both returned 403 to first-hand retrieval, so those awards are reported from the agency's own news page plus multiple independent trade reports, not read at source.
Not finding one is not a mark against the agency and does not move the score. It does mean there is no third-party record to set against ours — so this verdict rests on the rubric and the sources above, and nothing else.
Red flags
- Large business-outcome claims are published with no stated attribution method. The agency's own award announcement credits Michigan Central OPEN with driving direct vehicle sales, attracting '$1B+ in venture investment,' adding '1000s of local jobs' and having 'doubled revenue for small businesses in the neighborhood' -- causal claims about a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar citywide redevelopment that no single launch event could be isolated as the cause of. Paired with the complete absence of any described measurement methodology on the site, these read as marketing rather than evidence.
- An unsourced persuasion statistic, 'Over 90% of people are more likely to buy after a brand experience,' is published with no citation.
- The domain the agency is widely listed under, civicentertainment.com, is a dead parked shell that serves no content while the business operates at civic-us.com. Not a conduct concern, but a buyer following a directory listing or an older reference will land on a blank page and may conclude the agency no longer exists.
What we could not verify
- What does an engagement cost? No budget ranges, program minimums, or cost model are published anywhere, and /pricing returns a 404.
- How is the fee structured -- design fee versus production cost versus per-event services -- and what is marked up?
- Where do pass-through costs land? Drayage, rigging, electrical and venue services are never mentioned, so a buyer cannot tell what a quoted number excludes.
- Who actually fabricates and installs? The site never names an owned shop, a build partner, or an install and dismantle crew.
- Is there any warehousing or asset storage, and at what cost?
- Who owns the physical build and the design files after the event, and what does re-staging or refurbishing cost?
- How is event success measured? No lead capture, CRM integration, attendee data practice or post-show reporting method is described.
- How were the Michigan Central business-outcome figures attributed to the activation as opposed to Ford's wider Detroit investment?
- What are the cancellation and postponement terms if a date moves or a show is called off?
- How are union labour rules at major venues, permits, insurance and structural certification handled?
- Does the agency do conventional trade show exhibit programs at all, and at what booth footprints? No such work is evidenced.
- What do actual clients say? No independent client review base was located on any platform.
