AI search optimization agencies, reviewed and ranked
Getting cited inside ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews. Sold as GEO or AEO. Scored hardest on claim discipline, because nobody controls what an assistant says.

The youngest category on this site, and it shows
Almost every firm here is under two years old, the surfaces change monthly, and nobody has a long track record because there has not been time to build one. That is not a reason to avoid the category — the demand is real — but it does mean you should discount confident claims heavily and weight method and honesty above results.
Nobody can guarantee a citation
No agency controls a model's output, and none has privileged access to how an assistant chooses sources. Guaranteed rankings, guaranteed citations, guaranteed ‘first result in ChatGPT’, or a claimed partnership with a model provider are the clearest signal in this category, and not a good one. Where we found those, the record names them.
Ask how they would measure it
Assistant answers vary by user, session, phrasing and region, and change without notice. Credible measurement means a defined prompt set, repeated sampling, and an honest account of variance. A screenshot of one good answer is an anecdote. If the whole proof is screenshots, you are buying storytelling.
Much of what is sold as GEO is SEO with a new label
Structured content, schema, entity clarity and authoritative sourcing genuinely do help a model find and quote you — and they are also just good SEO. Several firms in this set are doing competent SEO under a newer, more expensive name. That is not fraud, and the work may still be worth buying, but you should know which you are paying for. Our records say plainly where the method was indistinguishable from SEO.
Prefer short commitments
In a field where nobody can yet evidence a twelve-month outcome, a twelve-month lock-in transfers all the uncertainty to you. Firms offering month-to-month or short engagements are pricing the uncertainty honestly.
How this page is built: every vendor here is scored against the published ai_search_optimization rubric — the one written for what this category actually sells, not a general agency rubric. Several of these records were first filed elsewhere and scored against a rubric they were not competing in; where that happened, the record carries a rescored_from field showing the previous verdict and score, so the change is auditable rather than silent.
