Cohley review

STRONG FIT

The only vendor in the category that treats compliance as a product: creators certified on FTC disclosure before they enter a brief, rights-cleared music with automated copyright checking, AI review of every submission against the brief, SOC 2 and pentest — on top of perpetual rights across all channels. Its pricing page contains no prices.

No published price we can link to. We do not estimate one — ask on the call, and see the pricing-transparency line in the scores below.

Verdict

Cohley is built for the buyer whose real exposure is not creative quality but legal and brand risk, and it is the only option here that has productised that. Creators are trained and certified on FTC disclosure requirements before they enter a brief; music comes from a rights-approved library with automated copyright checking on every submission; every asset is scored against the brief's non-negotiables by the platform's AI before it reaches the brand's queue; and the company carries SOC 2 and pentest attestations. Nothing else in this file addresses endorsement disclosure at all. Rights are equally clean — perpetual usage across all channels with no licensing fees or expiration dates, stated on the product pages and repeated as a line item on both plan tiers — and paid social, including influencer partnership ads, is a named use case rather than an afterthought. Sourcing is the deepest self-serve vetting here: a 200,000+ pre-vetted network where brands select on portfolios, social analytics and past brand reviews, with the AI agent screening applicants against stated criteria first. Two things keep it out of the top of the range. Neither cycle time nor per-client volume is published anywhere: the only speed evidence is a client-quoted '75% faster content production' and '5x faster creator sourcing', which are ratios against an unstated baseline rather than a number of days, and the volume figures on the site are platform-wide totals. And the pricing page is a pricing page with no prices — two named plans, a feature comparison, an optional three-month paid pilot, and 'custom pricing based on the amount of content you generate'. That is better than silence and worse than a number, and it means no buyer can compare Cohley to anything else in this file without a sales call. Sensible shortlist entry for a mid-market or enterprise brand with a legal function; overkill, and unpriceable, for a small team buying its first ten videos.

Red flags

How it scored

Usage rights, term and paid amplification

Excellent · verified

'Every asset includes full, perpetual usage rights. No licensing fees, expiration dates, or surprises when you repurpose content months later.' Listed as an included line item on both plan tiers. Music is separately rights-cleared and copyright-checked so assets are 'cleared for long-term use from day one'. Paid social including influencer partnership ads is a named use case.

Creator sourcing and vetting depth

Excellent · verified

A 200,000+ pre-vetted creator network; the platform's agent vets applicants against the brand's stated criteria, and brands then select on portfolios, social analytics and past brand reviews. Described method rather than a headcount.

Brief-to-delivery cycle time

Weak · vendor-stated

No cycle time published. The only speed evidence is a client-attributed '75% faster content production' and '5x faster creator sourcing' — ratios against an unstated baseline, not a number of days.

Volume and throughput per month

Weak · vendor-stated

Platform-wide totals only ('Thousands' of assets generated, '500+' creator collaborations). No per-client monthly volume published, and pricing scales with content volume without stating what any tier buys.

Performance feedback loop

Strong · vendor-stated

A named loop: performance analysis surfaces best creators and angles and feeds recommendations over time, with the agent learning from every brief. Capped below Excellent because the measured outcome described is social metrics rather than ad-account performance.

Disclosure and FTC compliance

Excellent · verified

Creators are 'trained and certified on FTC disclosure requirements before they enter a brief'. Rights-approved music library with automated copyright checking, AI scoring of every submission against the brief's non-negotiables before it reaches the brand, plus SOC 2 and pentest. The only vendor here that addresses endorsement disclosure at all.

Pricing and commercial transparency

Weak · verified

A published pricing page containing no prices: two named plans with a feature comparison, an optional three-month paid pilot, and 'all plans have custom pricing based on the amount of content you generate'. Structure without an anchor.
