Brand naming agencies, reviewed and ranked
Firms that name companies and products. Scored on names that verifiably made it into the world, and on the screening that keeps a name alive.

A shipped name is public evidence
Naming credits are contested more than any other discipline's — several firms will claim the same famous name, and the client rarely confirms. What survives that is a body of names actually in use by real companies, recent enough that the team that made them is still there. Old glory is the commonest thing sold here.
Screening is most of what you are paying for
Generating candidates is the easy half. The expensive half is killing the ones that are already trademarked, mean something unfortunate in a market you sell into, or cannot clear in the classes you need. A firm that presents unscreened names has moved that work onto you and your lawyers, and you will pay for it later.
Screening is not clearance, and honest firms say so
Nobody in this category can give you legal clearance — that is trademark counsel's job. The firms worth hiring state the boundary plainly and hand off cleanly. Any implication that their own search substitutes for counsel is a warning, not a service.
Ask what happens when every candidate dies
It is a normal outcome for a shortlist to be wiped out in legal review. Find out before contracting how many names come per round, how many rounds are included, and who pays for the next round when the first one clears nothing. Undefined deliverables in a category whose output is a shortlist means buying blind.

brand_naming rubric — the one written for what this category actually sells, not a general agency rubric. Several of these records were first filed elsewhere and scored against a rubric they were not competing in; where that happened, the record carries a rescored_from field showing the previous verdict and score, so the change is auditable rather than silent.
