Mobile & app marketing agencies, reviewed and ranked
App store optimisation and mobile user acquisition. Scored on ASO depth and on fluency with post-ATT measurement, which is where most of the difficulty now sits.
14 evaluated, of which we would put 13 in front of a client and cut 1.
Measurement is the hard part now, not buying
ATT and SKAdNetwork broke the deterministic attribution this category was built on, and the agencies worth hiring are the ones fluent in what replaced it: MMP configuration, consent handling, deep links, incrementality testing, cohort LTV and data QA. An agency that discusses installs without discussing measurement is describing 2020.
ASO is more than keywords
Real ASO combines keyword and metadata work with localisation, creative-page testing, ratings and reviews, custom product pages and conversion measurement — across both Apple and Google, which behave differently. Keyword-only ASO is the cheap half.
Ask about cohort economics, not install volume
Installs are purchasable at almost any volume; the question is what those cohorts are worth over time. Agencies operating on cohort LTV and payback will say so early, because it is the constraint they work within.
A real app-marketing firm with many positive reviews, but a detailed verified 2-star engagement alleges late work, wrong-app copy, no promised A/B testing, weak oversight, and severe underdelivery against planned spend.
Verified wrong-app deliverables
Repeated lateness and poor response times
Promised A/B testing reportedly not performed
Major underdelivery against planned media execution
How this page is built: every vendor here is scored against the published mobile_app_marketing rubric — the one written for what this category actually sells, not a general agency rubric. Several of these records were first filed elsewhere and scored against a rubric they were not competing in; where that happened, the record carries a rescored_from field showing the previous verdict and score, so the change is auditable rather than silent.
